Visit Parliament
Guided tours of Parliament
Have you ever wanted to visit the Houses of Parliament and see where some of the country’s biggest decisions are made?
If you live in Barnsley North, I’d be very happy to help you arrange a free guided tour of Parliament.
It’s a great opportunity to explore one of the country’s most historic buildings, learn more about how Parliament works and see where some of the big decisions affecting our lives are made.
During the 75-minute ‘Inside UK Parliament’ tour, your guide will:
- Explain how Parliament works and why it matters to all of us
- Show you some of the famous rooms and working spaces used by MPs and members of the House of Lords
- Explain how you can get involved and have your say in our democracy
- Share some of the fascinating history and stories behind the Palace of Westminster
If you’re one of my constituents, please get in touch to request a tour. My team and I would be very pleased to help arrange your visit.
Not sure whether you live in Barnsley North? You can check who your MP is here.
You can also find more information about tours and visiting Parliament on the UK Parliament website.
Virtual tours of Parliament
You can also explore the Houses of Parliament from the comfort of your own home, thanks to an online virtual tour.
The tour gives you the chance to look around some of the Palace of Westminster’s most famous rooms, as well as some lesser-known areas that aren’t usually open to the public.
You can take a virtual tour of the Houses of Parliament here.
Attend Prime Minister’s Questions
Prime Minister’s Questions (PMQs) takes place in the House of Commons every Wednesday at 12pm when Parliament is sitting. It’s an opportunity to see the Prime Minister answering questions from MPs on some of the biggest issues facing our country.
Tickets are free and are available to UK residents through their local MP.
If you live in Barnsley North and would like to attend PMQs, please get in touch with my office. My team and I will be happy to help.
Please bear in mind that tickets are very limited. MPs are allocated just two tickets per month, so demand is often much higher than the number available. Unfortunately, this means I can’t guarantee tickets for everyone who requests them.
I’d therefore encourage you to contact my office as far in advance as possible, ideally with a few dates when you would be available to attend. The more notice you can give us, the better chance we’ll have of helping you secure a place.
